This past weekend was surreal. I was honored to be in the company of people who cared about Black lives, believed in supporting one another and also cared about me. I felt the warmth settle around me like a soft blanket. It smelled like home and warm bread pudding.
At 11am it was lights, camera, action, I went live on Facebook for the first time. I sipped my chocolate smoothie, danced, laughed and shared meaningful words with my gracious audience. They listened to me share a glimpse of my new book Chain Breaker, and for one hour we had a little slice of heaven.
I welcome you take a glance at the book. https://www.aikanblackcollective.com/shop
It has been the joy of all my days since I started writing it. I truly believe every Black and Brown person should delve into this book. One of the reasons I am so passionate about it is because I can sense the momentum raising us higher into our greatness. Also, in my book you will see that I am an evangelist for collective action among Black people. I believe in "for us by us", I believe there can be new Black Wall Streets, I believe the "collective we" can change the world. This platform is about racial healing, engaging safe spaces, and being more aware of ways to collectively work together in order for each of us to thrive.
